Tall Tree Cycles Maintenance Workshops

1. Basic Maintenance – New Rider 6:30- 9:30 with 2 x 10 minute breaks ($95/person)

The emphasis of this class is on inspection and knowing when there is a problem rather than how to actually fix it. This class will be useful to new cyclists who want to know when their bike needs service but are unsure of their ability to fix it or simply want someone else to do the work.

2. Tires and Tubes 7:30-9:30 1x 10 min break ($50/person)

Not just a lot of hot air, this class will focus on that most vexing of problems the flat tire. From removing both wheels, to the different ways a tube can go flat, to temporarily repairing a cut tire, this course will have you changing your flats with confidence. You won’t believe how simple it is, once a pro shows you how!

3. Derailleur Systems 6:30- 9:30 2x 10 min breaks ($75/person)

Are your gears rattling when you shift, jumping when you pedal? Shift levers not moving at all? This course will show you the why AND the how of gear changes. At the end of it you will be able to solve basic shifting issues involving cable tension including replacing your cables yourself.

  • Students to replace shift cables on bike

4. Brake Systems (Mechanical) 7:00-9:00 1x10 minute break ($50/person)

Brakes squealing? Not slowing you down? Just want to know more about what’s stopping you? This course is for you.

  • Lecture Demo and Lab
  • 2 students per instructor
  • 4 students max
  • Lab to include replacement cable, pad installation, and a full adjust
  • Jan 25. More dates TBD

5. Brake Systems (Hydraulic) 7:00-9:00 1x10 minute break

  • 2 hours (By request)
  • Lecture Demo and Lab
  • 3 students per instructor
  • 6 students max
  • Lab to include brake fluid for bleed, pad installation, and a full adjust

6. Bearing Service full day Sunday

  • 5 hours(By request)
  • 3 to 1 ratio
  • 6 students max
  • Hubs, headset, bb

7. Wheel Service 7-9

  • 2 hours (By request)
  • 4 to 1 ratio

8. Tubular Gluing split days (6 hours total)
